BADP Korea Signs Strategic Partnership with Vietnam's AgriS

AgriS, Vietnam’s leading agricultural enterprise, and BADP Korea, a South Korean company specializing in biodegradable plastics, have entered into a strategic partnership. On September 15, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at AgriS headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City, marking the beginning of a joint initiative to build a sustainable and smart agricultural ecosystem. The partnership is being recognized as a new global cooperation model aimed at improving both agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability.

The signing ceremony brought together executives and research leaders from AgriS, Green Packaging, and BADP Korea. Representatives from AgriS included Chairwoman Dang Huynh Ngoc Mi, Director Tran Tan Viet, Senior Advisor Phan Minh Thanh, and CEO Thai Van Chuyen.

Green Packaging was represented by Chairman Truong Hong Quan, CEO Phan Gia Vu Duy, Production Director Tran Minh Phong, and Tay Ninh Branch Director Pham Van Phuc. Representing the Korean side were BADP Korea CEO Ko Shin-sung, CTO Kim Myung-gyu, Vietnam Branch Director Lee Hyung-jin, and Lee Jong-seop, CEO of Polyone Technology.

The event began with an opening session and guest introductions, followed by a presentation on AgriS’s sustainable growth strategy, a review of Green Packaging’s cooperation achievements, and a corporate introduction and strategic partnership proposal from BADP Korea.

During his presentation, CEO Ko Shin-sung stated, “This agreement goes beyond simple technological cooperation. It is the first step toward realizing a sustainable vision that improves both agriculture and the environment across Asia.” CTO Kim Myung-gyu added that BADP’s core technology applies microbial enzyme-based biodegradability during the plastic production process, increasing sustainability within the agricultural and packaging industries while strengthening the company’s long-term commitment to collaboration with AgriS.

He further emphasized that the technology would help reduce environmental damage caused by conventional plastic films, improve agricultural competitiveness, and create a foundation for expanding eco-friendly packaging industries throughout Asia.

During the discussion session, AgriS Chairwoman Dang Huynh Ngoc Mi, Green Packaging Chairman Truong Hong Quan, and BADP Korea CEO Ko Shin-sung each shared their perspectives on the importance and long-term vision of the partnership.

The highlight of the event was the official MOU signing ceremony. AgriS CEO Thai Van Chuyen and BADP Korea CEO Ko Shin-sung signed the agreement, witnessed by AgriS Chairwoman Dang Huynh Ngoc Mi, Green Packaging Chairman Truong Hong Quan, and BADP Korea Vietnam Branch Director Lee Hyung-jin.

Through this partnership, the companies plan to collaborate in four key areas: building a sustainable agricultural ecosystem, jointly developing eco-friendly packaging solutions, expanding the adoption of biodegradable materials and technologies, and entering international markets together.

BADP Korea stated that the agreement is the result of three years of scientific validation and joint demonstration work involving sugarcane mulching film applications. Over the past year, the company completed verification testing through KCL, a globally recognized testing and certification organization, and obtained official certification codes from Korea’s Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute (KEITI).

Industry experts view this MOU as an important starting point for expanding environmentally friendly and smart agriculture models through the combination of Vietnam’s agricultural industry and Korea’s biodegradable plastic technology. Moving forward, the two companies plan to accelerate their expansion into global sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly packaging markets, beginning with Vietnam.
